a bend in the branch attempts to evoke the imagery of these scenes with the colors of the baroque flute. The final section refers to Wendell Berry’s poem, “The Silence,” from The Collected Poems of Wendell Berry, 1957-1982.
Though the air is full of singing
my head is loud
with the labor of words
